Newcastle Goes CAMP
A big thank you to Quin and Mark for organising the fundraiser for Staffordshire Buddies and North Staffs Mind charities. Our quiz team was made up of John, Maurice and Paul. We came third…but it didn’t matter, we had fun and lots of laughs.
Even funnier was the Camp Cabaret with Scottie and a line-up of some brilliant acts at the Victoria Hall, Hanley…part of the Appetite Stoke Festival. True…some acts were more brilliant than others…but Scottie kept us well entertained. A great night out!
The outing to Westport Lake, rescheduled because of bad weather, took place on Saturday 10 September. It was a great pleasure to be joined by three people who had never been on an outing with us before. Daisy the dog made up a party of six, who gently strolled along the canal path before following the route around the large lake. John and Maurice also walked around the small lake too. We all met up at the Visitor Centre for a nice cup of tea and chat.
Apart from the abundant wildlife which included a rare black swan…it was the companionship and conversation which made this a typical successful OLGBT group outing.
