August Activities
August has been a busy month with visits to Macclesfield and Chester Prides…a conference on LGBT Ageing ‘From Prejudice to Pride’ in Chester Town Hall… a load of events organised by Appetite Stoke… the ceramic poppies ‘Weeping Window’ at Middleport Pottery…and our annual trip on the refurbished narrow boat Beatrice on the Caldon Canal. Alongside these outings, we had a successful series of Singing Workshops with Kate and Greg from the Boat Band.
Instead of a lengthy commentary…here are a few pictures. Top …Chester Pride Parade; below…Silver Rainbows’ chill out tent at Chester Pride.
Man Up
In a Facebook posting, Adrian was clearly delighted to have the support of bunch of familiar faces from the group on the first night of a sold out run of this powerfully moving piece on men’s mental health.
Appetite Stoke
Museum of the Moon in Stoke and lots of events in Hanley including Royal Opera House Reimagined, There Be Monsters, Fantabulosa, Fillage, Block by NoFit State Circus…and much more
Canal Trip
Not the best weather…but our spirits were not in the least bit dampened. Wonderful chance to engage in relaxed deep conversations, enjoy pastoral scenery and abundant wildlife. Thanks for everyone who helped to make the trip a really enjoyable occasion.
August Meeting
Quite a nice mix of decision making, discussion and physical activity putting up the new gazebo and chairs…rounded off with a nice cuppa and a review of the month in photos.
