2025 – Clay Stories
Clay Stories was an 8 week programme exploring story telling and narrative using clay. We looked at how artists through the ages from ancient Greeks to contemporary artists have used the medium of clay to tell stories. We created smaller pieces and bigger pieces, layering colours, texture and images inspired by the work of Grayson Perry exploring themes like transformation, healing, turning points and joyful beautiful things. The project was led by artist Sarah Fraser assisted by Matt Whiting.
The Exhibition
The final exhibition took place in Sarah’s studio at Spode in tandem with the main 2025 British Ceramics Biennial. Sarah and Matt cleverly created a vintage vibed living room complete with fireplace and custom wallpaper featuring designs and images from our creative planning. The photos below were taken by members, a big thank you to Sarah and Matt and everyone that took part.
