Meetings and Activities

We offer lots of opportunities for our members and prospective members to meet in person or online.

In Person

Our in person meetings are informal gatherings where you can meet other members and make new friends in a safe and welcoming environment. Occasionally we have guest speakers to present a topic of interest.

We currently have in person social meetings on the first and third Mondays of each month. On other Mondays we meet online on Zoom. Please see below for details.

Summer Street Social – First Monday of Every Month

We have a social meeting on the first Monday of every month, 6.30pm at the Summer Street Centre, Foden Street , Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 4DH.  Like all our meetings this is run by and for our members. Some members bring along board games and other social activities to share. There are facilities for tea and coffee. Meetings typically finish around 8.30pm. New attendees will always be made welcome.

The Café in Fenton Town Hall – Third Monday of Each Month

We meet on the third Monday of every month at The Café in Fenton Town Hall. This year we are pleased to be able to offer our members and prospective members a free buffet lunch starting at 1pm. This is being funded by a grant from Community Health Champions and each meeting will include a short presentation on a relevant health topic. There is also plenty of time for general chat and socialising, our meetings usually finish around 3pm

We meet in a private room at The Café. If you want to use the facilities of The Café they have a full menu of food and drinks. The staff are extremely helpful and supportive.

Online

We currently meet online at 5.30pm on any Monday that we don’t have an in person meeting. To get regular updates and a Zoom link please subscribe to our mailing list.

Our regular Zoom meetings are a great way to keep in touch with other members, share news and find out about upcoming meetings and activities. To join in you will need a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone with internet access. If you haven’t used Zoom before we can help you learn. Please see our Discover Digital pages to find out more about the support available

Informal Meet Ups

Our members sometimes arrange informal meetings and social activities. If you become actively involved in our group you will hear about these and have the opportunity to come along to anything that interests you.

For example, over the past year members have met up at local pubs in the evening, gone for walks together and had picnics in local parks.
